The best cities to visit in Israel

Israel has something for everyone, and if you are a city-person, this list is the something for you

Tel Aviv

You kind of have to visit Tel Aviv because the main airport is there. But other than that, this is the cultural capital of the state, a 24/7 vibrant city that never stops and the biggest party of them all. No wonder it is the number one stop of all the tourists, and the dream to live in for all the locals. If you are planning a visit, make sure to check out my favorite places in Tel Aviv

Jerusalem

The other stop on the must-visit list for any tourist that likes the beaten path. The capital of Israel is full of history, religion, student life and a unique vibe that you can find only there.

Haifa

My personal favorite city of Israel. The city is built on the side of a mountain, so beware of slow public transport. It is a city that mixes up many religions, and the 3 main ones (Jewish/Christian/Muslim) are living alongside each other. It has a few centers with nightlife, nice parks and a very nice beach. As a bonus, it is one of the only cities in Israel that operates some public transport on Shabbath.

Acre

One of the most ancient cities in Israel. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and former Crusader city with some great sightseeing and friendly beaches. It is also home to some of the best seafood restaurants in the country

Eilat

The most southern city in Israel. It is extremely warm with dry heat, and one of the favorite destinations of local tourism. The city has an airport that operates mostly with the low cost companies (at times you can find flights from/to Europe for as little as 10EUR), many hotels, and beaches on the red sea. The red sea is also one of the best diving destinations in the world (and my personal favorite so far!)

Final thoughts

Israel has a lot more to offer, there are more cities that can offer you different experiences, but this list is of my favorite ones (so, the best ones!). I also feel it represents different sides of the country. So go ahead and explore, and let me know if this list helped you!
