Things to do in Bansko in the winter

Bansko is a lively touristy town in the south of Bulgaria and it operates seasonally. If you find yourself there during winter season and don't know what to do take a look at this list of suggestions

Ski

First and foremost, Bansko is a ski town. It has the biggest ski center in the Balkans and it is the main thing it is known for. So if you are into skiing and don't want to break the bank, just rent your equipment and ski on! If you want to know all about skiing in Bansko, read our post about it!

Ice rink

If snow isn't slippery enough for you, or you want to try a different winter activity for the whole family, Bansko has an ice rink in which you can skate and enjoy the cold air. It is located close to the gondola, in the middle of the winter touristic center

Thermal waters

If the winter is too cold for you, visit one of the many places that have thermal water pools around Bansko. While in the town itself there are none, a 5-10 minutes ride by car or taxi would open a lot of options.

Hike

I know that hiking is usually not a winter activity, and some of the hikes are not accessible during winter because of the snow. But that's not a reason good enough not to enjoy the nature around town this time of the year. Hey, I even managed to hike on some of the ski slopes, with a baby!

Final thoughts
